What’s a Doula?
A doula is your partner in reproductive care, that can expand past giving birth, exclusively. We’re also known as birth workers, birth keepers, childbirth companion, and other names. We are trained non-medical professionals (some doulas do work in the medical field!) who provide emotional, physical, social, and informational support throughout the entire birth journey. Evidence supports doulas improving outcomes across a range of metrics for pregnant people, as well as infants, and a larger positive impact for the BIPOC community.
Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are big life transitions and you don’t need to do everything on your own. How do I show up for you? I provide whole person care, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit connection. That can look like a lot of different things… making you yummy meals (and baked goods), custom tea blends, taking care of baby (and older kiddos) while you have a break, and holding space for you to feel whatever you need to feel.
Below is a breakdown of the services I currently offer as a doula. As a lifelong learner, it’s my mission to continue my education as a birth keeper to provide quality care and support to my clients.
